We produce within us and are exposed  to Viruses, Bacteria, Protozoa and Fungi that are considered the Four Musketeers of the pathogenic world and play a key role in our Health and Wellbeing. Some of my readers wanted me to break it down in more detail for them. Protozoa is a singular protozoon which are microorganisms classified as unicellular eukaryotes (an organism with cells characteristic of all life forms except primitive microorganisms such as bacteria; i.e. an organism with 'good' or membrane-bound nuclei in its cells). Some protozoa have life stages alternating between proliferative stages, trophozoites (Apicomplexan cellular morphology, after infecting a host cell, a trophozoite increases in size while repeatedly replicating its nucleus and other organellesand), and in dormant cysts that most doctors will tell you its yeast. As cysts, protozoa can survive harsh conditions, such as exposure to extreme temperatures and harmful chemicals, or long periods without access to nutrients, water, or oxygen for a period of time. Being a cyst enables parasitic species to survive outside of the host, and allows their transmission from one host to another. The process by which the protozoa takes its cyst form is called encystation, while the process of transforming back into trophozoite is called excystation.
